How to Create Branded Short Links with Custom Domain

If you want your links to look more professional and trustworthy, branded short links are the way to go. Instead of using a generic shortener like cutyurl.com/xyz123, you can connect your own domain (like links.yourbrand.com) and share short links that actually carry your brand name.

Not only does this build trust, but it also improves your click-through rate, because people are far more likely to click on a link when they see your brand in it.

Why Use a Custom Domain for Short Links?

  • Brand Visibility: Every link you share has your name on it.

  • More Trust: Branded links don’t look suspicious like random short URLs.

  • Better CTR (Click-Through Rate): Studies show branded links get up to 35% more clicks.

  • Full Control: You can customize the URL structure as you want.

Step 1: Get Your Domain or Subdomain

First, you need a domain (like yourbrand.com).
If you already have one, you can create a subdomain like go.yourbrand.com or link.yourbrand.com.

Many marketers prefer subdomains so they can keep their main website separate.

Step 2: Update Your DNS Records

  • Domain  ( Example : mybrandlinks.com  )

Add an A Record pointing to your CutyURL server IP

      -Type: A
      -Host: @
-Value IP : Ex- 123.45.67.89  (CutyURL Server IP your DasBoard )
      -TTL: Auto

  • Subdomain (Example: go.mybrand.com )

Add a CNAME Record pointing to the CutyURL domain.

   -Type: CNAME
   -Host: go
   -Value: cutyurl.com   (Your shortener’s domain)
   -TTL: Auto
Go to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, BigRock, etc.) and add a CNAME or A record pointing your subdomain to your URL shortener (like CutyURL).

Important: Make sure your nameservers are updated first (if you’re using Cloudflare or another DNS provider). After that, update the A record or CNAME.

Step 3: Enable SSL (HTTPS)

For security, always enable SSL on your custom domain.
The easiest way is using Cloudflare Free SSL. Just add your domain to Cloudflare, update the nameservers, and activate the “Always Use HTTPS” option.

This ensures your branded links are secure and trusted by browsers.

Step 4: Connect Domain in Your URL Shortener

If you’re using CutyURL:

  1. Go to your dashboard.

  2. Open Custom Domain Settings.

  3. Enter your domain or subdomain.

  4. Save changes.

Sometimes changes take up12  to 24 hours due to DNS propagation.

Step 5: Start Sharing Branded Short Links

That’s it! Now instead of:
👉 cutyurl.com/abc123

You can share:
👉 go.yourbrand.com/offer

Looks cleaner, more professional, and instantly boosts trust.
